You Light Up My Life – Pun Intended

The new 2016-2017 Annual Stampin’ Up! catalogue was released just over a week ago and by now I’m sure you have had a chance to peruse all the wonderful products and project ideas contained within it.  One great feature of each catalogue is the Hostess Only Exclusive stamp sets that hostesses have the opportunity to purchase with their Stampin’ Reward dollars from their qualifying workshops.

One such set is featured on todays card and the set is called Pun Intended.  It showcases some great images with cute sentiments that coordinate with the image.

After stamping my lightbulb image in Archival Basic Black ink and colouring with markers, ink refills and aqaupainters, I used a simple watercolour wash technique around the image on the Shimmery White cardstock.  This cardstock works quite well for watercolouring, although it does take longer to dry than proper Watercolour paper.

If you look closely at the card you will notice some gold spatter.  This was a simple technique that Sheila Gardner, Stampin’ Up!’s co-founder, shared with us while at OnStage Live in Salt Lake City in April.  Using the Gold Wink of Stella and your finger tip, simply flick the tip of the brush and it spatters your creation.  Simple, yet effective.  Nothing a baby wipe won’t remove from your skin 😉

Host a workshop and you will have the opportunity to get this set!  Email me by clicking on the Email button at the top left of this page for more info!
