Winter Frost…brrrr!

Have you checked out the super beautiful Winter Frost Designer Series paper in the Holiday Catalogue?  I LOVE it!  The patterns are so pretty and the ones with the foil in it…….WOW!

A package of designer series paper can go a LONG way when you use it wisely.  Check out the card I created by cutting the paper into small squares and laying them out on my card front in a grid pattern.

Can you imagine how many cards I would be able to create from the Designer Series Paper pack using this style?  108!  Yes, I had to take a moment to figure it out.  The card base is 5 x 5 which means they would need to be cut from 12 x 12 cardstock.  So with 12 sheets in a package I would need 4.5 packages to create the 108 card bases 🙂  Don’t forget some co-ordinating cardstock to cut the square mats and of course those stunning Frosted Finish Embellishments from the Holiday catalogue.

Tips/ Tricks:

  • Squares – Maximize your cardstock by using your paper trimmer to cut your designer series paper into 1 1/4″ squares and your solid colour mats into 1 3/8″ squares.
  • Card Size – By creating a square card base this allows you to evenly space all of your grids keeping the card equal and balanced.
  • Sponge – Make your sentiment pop by sponging around the edges in a coordinating colour.
  • Colour balance – With some of the designer paper having silver foil in it, add another item to your card that is also silver to tie it in.  You’ll notice that I embossed the sentiment in Silver Embossing powder, as well as added the Frosted Finish Embellishment.

Stamp Sets – retired holiday set used for this card (sorry!)  Cardstock – Whisper White, Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Winter Frost Designer Series Paper  Inks – Pool Party, Versamark Accessories – Paper Trimmer, Big Shot, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Heat Tool, Silver Embossing Powder, Stampin’ Sponges, Frosted Finish Embellishment, SNAIL Adhesive, Stampin’ Dimensional
