What did the chicken say to the egg?

….. “you’re a good egg”    I admit it!  I think this is such a cute saying in the free Sale-A-Bration set Hey, Chick!

I love creating with these cute chickens.  Whether you’re a country person or not, it’s hard not to find them sweet and fun.

Today I am sharing two cards featuring images and sayings from this set.

The first is the one where the chicken says to the egg, “you’re a good egg.”  It is a clean and simple watercoloured card.

Stamp your images in Archival Black ink on Watercolour paper, colour with your Watercolour Pencils and blend using an Aquapainter.  When I created this, I was waiting on an order to arrive that has the current burlap ribbon, so instead I used some retired burlap ribbon and use a stapler to staple it to the top of the watercoloured piece.

Did you notice the fun background?  I inked up my Hexagon Dynamic Embossing Folder with Smoky Slate ink, placed my cardstock inside, close the flap on the folder and rubbed by hand to only create the background and not actually run it through the Big Shot to emboss!

I attached the hexagon stamped cardstock to my Pool Party card base and then used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up my watercoloured card front.

Next we have another fun card which does feature retired Adventure Bound designer series paper but you could easily replace the patterned paper by stamping the Hardwood stamp image in Chocolate Chip or Early Espresso ink on some Crumb Cake cardstock.

I used the another chicken image from the Hey, Chick set for this card and watercoloured it as well, however, rather than stamping on Watercolour Paper, I stamped on Thick Whisper White, and used Blender Pens to smooth out the colouring from the Watercolour Pencils.

I die cut the image using one of the circle dies from the Stitched Shapes Framelits die set.  Before attaching to my cardfront using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I added some Bakers Twine around the patterned cardfront.

The sentiment was die cut from the Bunch of Banners Framelits die set. This could easily be used to cheer up a male friend or as a birthday card.
