Wedding Card

I have been so busy lately that I am just not getting in the stamp time that I would like.  Although I have several classes, workshops & events coming up that I need to prep for I decided to give myself some “me” time in the stamp room the other night and just stamp for the pure pleasure of stamping 🙂  Since time was short I went to one of my fav spots for getting inspiration…. the Less Is More Blogspot.  Each week they have a theme or challenge.  This helps me focus on a specific goal rather than trying to think up nothing LOL

This weeks theme is Love & Marriage.  So I opened my stamp cupboard and lo and behold the first two sets that immediately caught my eye were Mr. & Mrs. and Stippled Blossoms.  This card came together instantly in my mind. Since the whole idea behind the Less is More blog is to have less on the card, with one layer being preferred, I stuck to the basics of pure and simple stamping by only using Whisper White cardstock and no additional embellishments or layers.

I truly love how this card turned out.  I used Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Certainly Celery and Wild Wasabi ink pads for the flowers.  Usually I am good at eyeballing my two step stampin’ but I find with the large flower in this set, the detailed stamp is hard to line up by eye.  This means that I had to pull out my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig.  I am so thankful I have this tool as it works great!  All of these great products can be purchased through my On-Line store!

The Mr. and Mrs. stamp was added using Jet Black Staz On ink.  I wasn’t sure at first if I wanted to use black but I am happy I did.  The card stands out more using this than if I had chosen one of the flower colours.

Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

  1. Loving these clean and simple cards, Margaret! I have zero time or energy for card-making these days, so cards like this are saving my butt 🙂 Thanks for sharing this one! I love the colours you used and the way you stamped the flower cluster off the corner – the layout is perfection! Have had my eye on that stamp set too…you always seem to know how to twist my arm. LOL! Thanks for the great inspiration!
