Wedding Anniversary: Non-Traditional Card

If you checked out Monday’s post you will know that yesterday was my second wedding anniversary.  I must say I am truly blessed and am so thankful each and every day for the gift that God gave me in my husband.  We have been together for a long time and have been through so much together but it has made us stronger.

I could have easily made a card that said Happy Anniversary and I’ll be honest, when I made this card I didn’t create it with my anniversary in mind.  However, when I finished it I realized it was the perfect sentiment to tell my husband what he is to me!

I used the Sunshine Sayings stamp set and the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits for the card. I wanted bold, fun colours which I must say there is no lack of with Stampin’ Up!’s coordinating products!  Using the new Sponge Brayer, I applied Daffodil Delight ink to the Irresistably Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper. I die cut my flowers and Sunshine from Pool Party, Watermelon Wonder and Daffodil Delight card stock.  I completed my sentiment by stamping “you are my” in Archival Black ink on Whisper White card stock and cutting the ends in a banner shape.

If you haven’t tried the Fine Tip Glue, I recommend it for applying intricate die cut designs such as the flowers on this card.  It allows you to apply adhesive to very narrow strips of card stock.

I layered my designer paper on Basic Black card stock and attached this to my Watermelon Wonder card base. You might notice that this is one of the few cards I have created without some form of embellishment added.  Sometimes you have to leave things be, so as not to take away from the message.

Thanks for checking out my non-traditional anniversary card.  See you again soon!
