Watercolour Pitcher and Pear

Although the Studio Sketches stamp set is retired I absolutely love the shading on the images in this set.  It allows for great watercolouring, especially when you are not very good at it otherwise.

The shaded areas help inform you where your darker colouring should be and when you have your image fully coloured, it looks fantastic.  Each time I look at this card I still feel surprised by how beautiful the colouring looks.  This was my deciding factor in how I should implement the coloured image into a full card.

I wanted the eye to be drawn to the image, so I simply used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it up on my plain Whisper White card base.  I also used a small sentiment stamp for this reason as well.  This sweet sentiment comes from the Create-A-Cupcake stamp set.

Would you like to see me post more cards using the watercolouring technique here on my blog?  Leave a comment if you would!
