Thumping Thursday – Colour Theory!

Quick, clean, easy to replicate! That is what Thumping Thursday is all about!

So I have been trying hard not to share too much from the new catalogue with you because, well, it is only May and we still have so many fabulous products currently available that I don’t want you to lose sight of them.  Today though I just couldn’t resist sharing a very quick and easy card created with some new products.

The “paint swatch” style patterned paper is called Colour Theory.  It will be available in a paper stack in 4 different colours AND…. no more glue/ adhesive holding the stack together.  These are now coming loose like the 12 x 12 designer series paper so you don’t end up with that thick edge along one side. It is a 6 x 6 paper stack, so I cut this piece down to 4″ x 5 1/4″.   I wrapped Linen Thread around it 3 times and tied it in a bow and attached this patterned layer to my folded 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Whisper White card base.

For the sentiment, I used a new stamp set called Special Celebrations. It has several great sentiments and sayings, and I just know you are going to love this set! I used Archival Basic Black ink and stamped on Whisper White.  I die cut it using the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies, attached Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and adhered to my card front.

You’ll notice that the sentiment trails off with ….  Well, it continues nicely on the inside of the card.  Are you loving this bold font?

The great thing is that not all the sayings/ sentiments in the set have the same font.

TIP: Did you notice in the photo that the linen thread appears to have some slack in it?  Sometimes it is tricky to tie a bow and keep the tension on the thread wrapped around the card.  The quickest and easiest way to put tension back on the thread (when you have it wrapped around more than once), is to spread out the thread.  You can see it is slightly separated but once you separate it a bit more around the edges so that it is fanned out, the slack will disappear!

I hope you enjoyed this weeks installment of Thumping Thursday!
