Tealight Candle Box

It is simple and easy to create quick and cute 3-D projects using Stampin’ Up!s Box, Bag and Envelope Punch Boards.  I created this sweet box using the Gift Box Punch Board. It is a great tool as it provides you with your cardstock size needed to create the box size that will work best for your creation and helps you score and punch the cardstock at the perfect dimensions.  Originally I wanted to create the box using Vellum Cardstock but after 3 tries and having the edges split when I folded them, I decided to switch to Whisper White.  I checked in the dark first to make sure that a battery powered tealight candle would still illuminate through the white cardstock and it did.

I wrapped a belly band of Sweet Sugarplum Designer Series Paper along the top edge but before I adhered this into place, I die cut a flower from the Rose Garden Thinlits.  I covered with Versarmark ink, dipped in Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder (retiring in a few days) and heat set using the Heat Tool.  I gently creased two “edges” of the flower and adhered them to the outside of the box before placing the DSP over top of this to sandwich the flower in place between the two layers.

I also wrapped Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon along the seam of the DSP and the Whisper White and tied in a bow.  To complete the bling on this tealight candle box, I added Basic Pearls along the DSP sides and top edge on the side of the box with the bow.

The die cut flower on the top, covers just enough of the box to allow you to slip a battery powered tealight candle through the opening.

Dust off your Gift Box Punch Board and start creating some sweet tealight candle holders.  Perfect for a quick thank you gift, or even a wedding party favor.
