I was all over the Less is More Challenge as soon as they posted it and created a few cards, yet here I am just getting around to posting one of the cards in the second week of the challenge.
The challenge was a recipe and to make something tactile – something with texture, something that appeals to the sense of touch. While my card may seem somewhat simple, it actually has a few tactile features.
First is the clear embossed background designer series paper. The paper is white and comes with clear embossed designs. This makes it perfect for sponging to any desired colour to reveal the pattern. It also has a great feel to it. I used the Irresistably Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper for this card. I stamped a simple sentiment from the set Sunshine Sayings and popped up one of the words using a bit of Foam Adhesive Strips, creating another element for the sense of touch.
The next element that meets the recipe challenge is the Linen Thread looped randomly behind the starfish image, which is the final feature of tactile on this card. The starfish is burnished to curl up the edges and then popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I kept the colours light and summery to match the imagery and left lots of white space so that the eye is drawn to the starfish focal point.
Thanks for checking out my card for the Less is More Challenge and be sure to check out the great cards made by the other participants. We all appreciate comments on our blog posts, so please be sure to leave some love!
