Sad Day

Today is a sad day as we will be going to a visitation for a wonderful person who passed away Sunday.  Our heart goes out to our friend Aaron as we know he loved Denise very much.  She was such a sweet soul, always ready with a smile and a kind hello.

I sat down last night to make a card for Aaron and realized it is quite difficult to create a sympathy card. What stamp do you use, what image?  What is appropriate when someone has passed.  Perhaps this is the reason it took me an hour to make this card.  I wanted something that wasn’t over the top but something to also let him know how much we care and that he means a lot to us.

I stamped the inside as well with a saying from the Thoughts and Prayers Stamp Set.  It reads:

Praying for friends
to comfort you,
faith to uphold you,
and loving memories
to heal your heart.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Aaron and his family.  May God grant him peace and love to heal his heart.

  1. I agree, sympathy cards can be the hardest to make – but you did a lovely job! The soft, muted colours and sentiment are perfect, Margaret. I’m sure this card will mean a lot to it’s recipient. I will definitely be bookmarking this card for inspiration next time I need a card for this occasion – so thoughtful and beautiful!
