Repetition – Less is More Challenge Week 285

I had a bit of a rough day yesterday.  I was battling an ugly headache caused by a stiff neck and all I could think was that I needed to go home and get in my stamp room to de-stress.  I have been so busy working on my race car the past several weeks that I haven’t been able to squeeze in any stamp time.  So I made sure that I made time last night and I was so grateful I did.  While I’m still struggling this morning with my neck and headache, I was able to enjoy participating in some challenges.

Today I’m sharing a card I made for this weeks Less Is More Week 285 Challenge.  I love that they make you focus on keeping things simple.  While I don’t often work with retired product as I like to share new and current items, I really felt like my “old” product needed some loving!  Everything used on this card except the stamp set (Work of Art) and the Whisper White cardstock, are already retired.

repetition

This weeks challenge for Less is More was “Repetition”.  A simple image for repetition works great and the chevron from the Work of Art stamp set is perfect for this.  One of the first things I learned in card making was that uneven quantities are more appealing to the eye.  Keeping this in mind, as well as leaving sufficient white space, I stamped the image 3 times.  I used the 2013-2015 In Colours Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar – I still love these!  I really do hope they bring some of these back (like the Crisp Cantaloupe – love, love, love that colour)

A few retired embellishments finished this card off and added the sweet sentiment it needed to be complete!

It’s always a great idea to keep an eye on the Clearance Rack as some great retired products are added every so often.
