Punch Art Mouse

Oh what you can create with punches!  I love creating fun cards featuring punch art characters.  This adorable mouse is one I created earlier this year.

Tips/ Tricks:

  • Punches – Depending on the size of card you wish to create you may want to select smaller punches. Play with the various size circle punches to find the ones that best suit your cards needs.
  • Sky – I wanted to show a blue sky behind the mouse.  To achieve this I inked my Mosaic Embossing folder with Pool Party ink before running my Whisper White cardstock through it.  This make the ink transfer onto the depressed portions of the embossed cardstock.  Use a baby wipe to clean the embossing folder.
  • Grass – Creating grass is simple.  Cut a strip of green cardstock (I used Wild Wasabi) and use your Paper Snips to cut one long edge to create your blades of grass.

Stamp Sets – Morning Meadow  Cardstock – Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black  Inks – Pool Party, Smoky Slate  Accessories – Big Shot, Mosaic Embossing Folder, various Circle Punches, Boho Blossom Punch, Owl Punch, Linen Thread, Paper Snips, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker, SNAIL Adhesive

Most of the punches are circles with the odd exception (like the feet).  Since I created this card for a swap and we only made card fronts I did not complete this card like I normally would.  To make this card super fun, I would punch out the same circle for the mouse’s backside, pierce a hole through the centre of the bum circle and add some twine or linen thread through the hole.  I would then attach this to the back card flap so you can see his tail.  Totally adorable when you create the card like this!
