I love the new colours that Stampin’ Up! revealed for the 2016-2018 In Colours. Here is a picture of matching cards that were shown at OnStage Live that showcase the 5 new colours
From top to bottom and left to right we have: Emerald Envy, Dapper Denim, Sweet Sugarplum, Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo. Fun names aren’t they!
The colours are a bit more bright and vivid than what my camera seemed to capture but this should give you a good idea!
Here’s a sneak peek at the Swirly Birds stamp set that will be available in June when the new Annual Catalogue is released. With a variety of shapes, so many ideas come to mind of what can be created when looking at the images in this set.
For this particular tag, I used the solid ‘circle’ image for my balloons, along with half of the tiny bow tie (hard to see in the above pic because light is reflecting off part of this image) to create the tied end of the balloon and finally, the tiny little ‘flag’ image that I used to create the light bubble on the balloons. These were stamped on the balloons using Versarmark and heat setting White Embossing Powder.
This tag shows the colour more accurately! I cut a strip of cardstock 2″ wide x 5 1/2″ long and punched the end using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and embossed it in the Big Shot using the Softly Falling TIEF (textured impression embossing folder). I created a belly band using the 2016-2018 In Colour Designer Series Paper. The balloons were all hand cut. I folded Silver Metallic Thread several times for each balloon and attached in behind the balloon ‘stem’. To hold it in place, I placed a glue dot over top of the thread and adhering to the balloon image on either side of the thread. The two outside balloons were adhered directly to the tage and the top three balloons were then popped up on top of the tag. I also used a glue dot to gather the threads from all the balloons and hold it in place off to the left. To cover up the glue dot, I used a single sequin from the Silver Sequin Trim.
The Happy Birthday banner was created by die cutting the banner from the Large Numbers Framelits, then applying the words Happy and Birthday from the Number of Years stamp set to an acrylic block, inking up with Basic Black Archival ink and stamping on the banner. I also sponged the edges with Peekaboo Peach so it stood out. I added lots of Basic Rhinestones and popped the sentiment banner on the tag using Stampin’ Dimensnionals.
The tag is completed by adding the beautiful new Peekaboo Peach 3/8″ Ruched Ribbon to the top of the tag.
