Occasions Catalogue – Final 3 Weeks

Yesterday I just could not wait to get home and stamp.  My mind was whirling all day with ideas and designs and of course, by the time I managed to get to my stamp room my brain was so full that I could not quite focus and pull up one particular design in my mind that I had visualized earlier.  This happens to me often and I find it quite frustrating.  If I had the ability to sketch them really quickly as I think of them it would help but they tend to pull together at the most inopportune times for me.  Does this happen to anyone else? Well I did manage to put together one card fairly quick using upcoming new products but I won't be sharing that with you today.  This card is one that I also made last night but wasn't one that my mind had been toying with.  While the card looks quick and easy (and it is), it took me a while to decide what colours to use, what embellishments and so on. Keep in mind my brain had fallen asleep on me by 9:30pm and it was already 10:30 and well past my bedtime, so its not really a surprise that I was struggling! The card base, made from Very Vanilla cardstock, was cut at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored lengthwise at 4-1/4" to create a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" folded card base.  I barely used the Falling in Love Designer Series Paper from the Occasions catalogue (which by the way is already sold out and no longer available - GASP!), so I decided to use it for this sweet teddy bear card. Before adhering with SNAIL to my card base I added some Gold Natural Trim ribbon, tied in a sweet bow. I love these new three step stamps.  They add so much depth and dimension to the image and done well, can look life like.  For the bear I used Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip and Early Espresso ink.  The scrap paper he is stamped on measures 3" x 3-5/8" and the Soft Sky matte that I layered him on is 3/16" larger both ways. (3-3/16" x 3-13/16").  I stamped "love you" sideways on the top left in Soft Sky ink and I used Stampin' Dimensionals to pop up on my card front. As I mentioned this card is actually quite easy and quick to pull together.  The hardest part is layering your three bear images over one another to achieve the detailed appearance. Well we are in the final three week of the Occasions Catalogue and I have to tell you that for me, it was one of the best! I 'fell in love' with so many products that I didn't believe my bank account would sustain me. This video helps showcase some of these great products and fun projects created with them.  What was your favourite product from this catalogue?
