Moon Baby – Maverick

It’s Monday already?  Where do the weekends go?  I had so much on the go yet I managed to squeeze a bit of stamping time in!!! Woo hoo!  My niece and her husband welcomed their third child a couple weeks ago and Sunday he was baptised.  I have been so hectic lately that I haven’t had a chance to pop over to see her and drop off a card.  Maybe it was a good thing because I recently ordered the new set Moon Baby from the current Occasions catalogue and it just arrived in last week.

I was super excited to create some cards with this set and the Watercolour Pencils.  Oh my word! Can I just say how much I love them! I used Watercolour paper to stamp my image in Archival Black ink and then proceeded to colour my image using the Watercolour Pencils and an Aquapainter.

Rather than use the pencils for the sky background I simply added some drops of Soft Sky ink refill to the lid of its ink pad and dipped my Aquapainter in that.

Now one of my other favourite parts of this card is the personalized sentiment.  I used the Labeler Alphabet set to create my words.  Sure it takes a few minutes to stamp each letter separately so that I could slightly overlap, but it was well worth it.

Applying the watercoloured  card front to the Soft Sky base seemed a bit bland, so I cut a strip of Daffodil Delight cardstock to layer in between the two to help tie in colour of the moon and stars.

Then I couldn’t help myself and figured I should add an embellishment.  I applied some Tear and Tape to the cardfront and gently ruffled my retired Pool Party Seam Binding ribbon to the tape. I’m not sure if it is just this card that I am in love with, or if it has more to do with the stamp set….. all I know is I love the final result!

Have you been drawn to this stamp set?
