Yes I know, it’s May but is it ever too early to work on Christmas cards?
For this weeks Memory Monday, I dusted off my Delightful Decorations stamp set, the coordinating Ornament punch and some long retired Christmas designer series paper packs!
I really went old school on these cards 🙂 Even the embossing folder is retired!
The card bases are standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, however I cut at 4 1/4 x 11″ from a full 8 1/2″ x 11″ cardstock and I scored at the 5 1/2″ mark.
I embossed the Whisper White cardstock front with the Snow Flurry? embossing folder, added a few Basic Rhinestones and adhered to my patterned paper card front using SNAIL adhesive.
I stamped my ornaments in a variety of colours – Soft Sky, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Real Red. I added a bow of Basic Black Bakers Twine around the top of the ornament and popped this up on the card front.
I completed the card by adding Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the patterned Designer Series Paper and attached this to my card base.
Overall this was a quick and easy card design and I was able to make quite a few in a short period of time. This is such a great way to use up your retired designer series paper to make room for new paper, because let’s face it…. we all know that we will “fall in love” with the newest release of designer paper!
Do you own this set as well? Pull it on out, wipe off the dust 😉 and get a jump start on your Christmas cards!
