Love & Hugs

Happy Monday!  I hope you all enjoyed a nice weekend.  I was blessed as I was able to go out on two dates with my husband this weekend and we finished it up by attending a church picnic to celebrate our dear minister’s retirement.  Although it is hard for us to let him go, we know he has the right to enjoy life as well and so we shared a wonderful afternoon with our fellow parishioners.

Today’s card is almost fitting for yesterdays events, as retiring cannot be easy for any minister who is dearly loved by the congregation.  Sending love & hugs is a way to let him know that we care and this card says it simply and openly.

I love the new Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and the coordinating Sunshine Sayings stamp set.  It makes for quick and easy card making!  I still cannot say enough about the new Big Shot Platform paired with the Precision Base Plate.  You want to talk about perfect die cutting… I didn’t even have to used my Die Brush, it came out so easily.

The Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper paired well with my colour selection and the rustic look of this pattern provided the perfect balance.

I grounded the word love by adding a partial doily and the new Gold Natural Trim.  I was going to stamp the word hugs on a piece of Whisper White card stock like I did for the word “sending” but it just didn’t look right, so I ended up stamping it right on the card front.  It definitely was the right choice.

With the bit of Gold in the Natural trim, I wanted to add just a  bit more gold to the card.  If you look closely, you will see the Gold Wink of Stella spattered on the card front. This little trick was taught by none other than Shelli Gardner at OnStage Live 2016.

Join me again later this week for more inspiration!
