Live With Passion – Scrapbook Page

I have let my scrapbooking get away from me and it is time to get a handle on it and begin creating again.  Recently my husband and I went out for the day to get my hair done and do some clothes shopping.  Yes, my husband is a willing participant! He is usually the one suggesting we go out to do these things and yet he doesn't go to buy clothes for himself.  He is stubborn! I am however grateful that he doe shop with me as he has great taste in clothing (not always perfect but close) and I am still getting a grasp on "looking good". Now perhaps you are like me, always behind the camera, rarely in front of it. Even for those few occasions I am in front of the camera, I often don't like how the photo turns out.  However, while we were out and stopped for lunch, my sweet husband managed to snap a great shot of me. I love the floral print on this dress (I won't lie, I have a matching purse and matching shoes!) and decided I would put together a page using the Lovely Friends Bundle and this picture!  To think, my husband picked out this dress for me.... and the necklace! I was looking for a clean layout so as not to take away from the photo.  The small flowers in the Lovely Friends set suited the task well.  I stamped randomly over my 12 x 12 Whisper White cardstock base, using the two-step stampin' technique. I also did the same on some scrap Whisper White using the larger of the two flowers and die cutting. While the flowers are not identical, I was still able to make them look similar by using the same colours.  As you can see in the above photo, I used Wink of Stella on the centre of the flowers that have been die cut and popped up on my page, while the flowers stamped directly on the page base feature the the Clear Faceted Gem. The leaves were stamped in Old Olive ink to match the leaves on my dress as well. I also die cut a few leaves using the Lovely Laurels Thinlits dies from Old Olive cardstock and placed them randomly on the page. I did cheat a smidge and used the Live, Laugh, Love sentiment stamp from the set Beautiful You as my 'title' on this page.  This was stamped in Archival Basic Black ink and then die cut using the Lots of Labels.  I was worried this would blend into the page background, so I sponged the edges with Old Olive ink and attached one of the die cut leaves. The last thing I have yet to do is add a bit of simple journaling, such as the date and what we were doing that day. I am not a huge fan of my hand writing or printing. That along with writing on an angle and not in straight lines tend to make me hold off until I trust myself not to mess it up! LOL I hope I'm not alone in this! I hope you enjoyed todays scrapbook creation.  Is the Lovely Friends Bundle an item that you have on your wish list?
