It’s a ‘Crate’ Love

I hope you are as excited about the new products you’ve been seeing from the new catalogue, as much as I am.  I seriously adore the Wood Crate Framelits.  The crates are so quick and easy to make and assemble.  There are so many possibilities of things to put in them, events to use them for and on and on!

Now I will admit that for this sweet project I did use the retired clothespins and lace doily (I like the one currently available but need to use up my old stash before I buy more!)

The crate was created using the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper stack.  I like the variety of wood designs that come in this package. I cut a portion of the Lace Doily and folded it over the top edge of the crate.

On Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the heart image in Real Red ink, and the weathered circle image in Daffodil Delight ink before stamping my sentiment over this in Archival Basic Black ink. I used the Wood Crate framelits dies to cut out the heart and a 1″ Circle Punch for the sentiment.

Rather than attaching it permanently to the crate, I used the clothespin to attach it.  The idea behind this is so that the recipient may remove them and use these on a project of their own.

Next I filled a 4″ x 6″ cello bag (no longer available but you can get the 3″ x 6″ gusseted cello bag instead) with Sweet Tart candies and attached a bow to seal it, using the Copper Trim ribbon.
