In Three’s

This weekend I HAD to get some stamping done as I am participating in a shoebox swap at my upline’s home tonight.  This meant no more procrastinating in creating a fresh new card.  My only trouble was….. no mojo.  Boy did I struggle to come up with a design but I finally did and those cards are ready to be made by a bunch of stamp crazy women tonight.  I’ll share that creation with you tomorrow.

Sunday I went back down to the stamp room to do some creating and I felt totally energized and ready to work up a storm.  The first thing on my list…..create a card for the Less is More challenge this week.  I find that creating cards based off of this challenge really helps get my creative juices flowing.  I think the reason is that they have already created a theme for you.

Needless to say I not only completed this weeks challenge but also created a card using last week’s challenge.

Anyways, here is the card I created for this week on Whisper White cardstock.  The challenge was to create a one layer card and based on the theme of “three”.  This meant you could use three colours, or 3 images, or 3 words or the letter three.  As long as the card had something of 3 on it.  I went “all out” on this one.  I get confused at times of what is considered one layer so I hope that the flowers fit in still.

Check out the three flowers, each in a different colour (so three colours), each with pearl in the centre.  Then my sentiment has three words (I consider the “&” symbol to be a word) and finally, check out the three scored lines framing my flowers and sentiment. I used my incredible Simply Scored board to do this.

The colours I used on this card were Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Riding Hood Red.  The sentiment was also stamped in Riding Hood Red using a saying from the set Loving Thoughts.

I have had those flowers sitting on my desk for months now and when I walked in my stamp room, knowing what challenge I was doing, I immediately was drawn to them and the card fell in place in my mind.  I LOVE it when a card just comes together so quickly.

Go on over to Less is More and check out the challenge and all the wonderful creations others have submitted.

Don’t forget to leave me a comment here!

  1. Your beautiful rolled flowers could be construed as adding to the basic layer… unless you consider them as embellishments. It’s a tricky one… it’s often safer to simply stamp when making a one layer card!
    It’s very attractive though!

  2. I have to echo Chrissie
Because the flowers are the focal point of your card, and they are stuck on, ti does actually make your card more than a single layer
It is fabulous have to say”
    Thanks very much
