Hot Air Balloon

Happy Monday!  Have you been loving all the new products and stamp sets in the 2017 Occasions Catalogue? I’m sure you have seen tons of ideas all over the internet already.

I have been seriously behind in sharing projects with you all. I did sit down over my Christmas holidays to craft one day and today’s card is one of my creations from that day.  I know I’m horribly late in sharing!

When I first saw all the pieces in the thinlit set I was worried about the balloon being finicky and having to die cut so many pieces (because I can be lazy in this regards) but I had so much fun picking my colours for my balloon background and it ended up taking no time at all.

I used my Tombow Mono Multi-Purpose Glue to attached the coloured cardstock in behind the intricate detailed hot air balloon cut out.  I then popped this up on my cardfront using Stampin’ Dimensionals but not before stamping clouds on the cardfront using Pool Party ink.

The balloon and sentiment colours used are Bermuda Bay and Watermelon Wonder.  I wanted the word LIFT to pop out even more than it already did being in caps and a different font, so I stamped it in Bermuda Bay, cut it out and popped it up over the original stamped word.  Simple techniques such as this can help make a card more interesting and visually appealing.

There are so many sets that I’m loving from the new catalogue that I simply can’t pick one favourite.  Are you struggling with the same issue or do you have one set in particular that you absolutely love more than the others?
