Hedgehog

It was my friends birthday last week so I sent her a cute card with birthday wishes.

This set is very old.  It is called Cute Critters.  I had originally owned this set but then sold it to my friend.  Later on I kicked myself for selling it because the little critters are just so adorable.  Needless to say without knowing it Mel found a set for sale and bought it for me.  How sweet is that!

So when I sat down to make her a card I thought it would be perfect to make a card for her using this set.

I have been trying the clean and simple style lately for a lot of my cards and this card fits the bill.  With lots of “white” space left on it and only one layer.  I coloured the hedgehog using Watercolour Pencil Crayons and blending with a Blender Pen.  The ground and the sky around the hedgehog were sponged using Pool Party and Wild Wasabi ink.

I added the dotted line using a ruler and my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.

Finally, I stamped the sentiment using Happy Birthday from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set and stamping with Jet Black Staz On Ink.

What do you think?

  1. So stinkin’ cute!! Great job with the white space and your ‘watercolouring’ is beautiful, as always. One of these days, I’m going to need to watch you in action!
