Normally I post on Monday but since I am horrible for getting my card posted for the Global Design Project challenge each week by Monday (and remembering they are 11 hours ahead of me), I decided to post a day earlier.
The theme this week was nautical and while I have the retired set, The Open Sea, it is buried somewhere in a tote right now. When I noticed that many people were designing cards that had anything to do with water, I realized this was my opportunity to use the set Playful Pals for the first time. It’s not like I haven’t already owned it for say…. 6 months or so. With so many itty bitty images to assemble a wide array of animals, I did have to go to Pinterest to see how people were putting their frogs together.
I used Garden Green card stock and ink for the frog and Wild Wasabi card stock for the ‘lily pad’. The water was stamped using Pool Party ink and the sun was stamped in Daffodil Delight ink using a flower image from the set Flower Patch.
If you look closely at the water, I also die cut the swirly waves image from Vellum Cardstock and lightly inked the back of it with Pool Party ink.
I didn’t stamp any sentiment as I will leave that until I know who the lucky recipient will be. I’m thinking it will be just perfect for a young childs birthday.
I loved participating in this weeks Global Design Project challenge and I hope you enjoyed my creation. Please remember to check out the cards made by the other participants and leave us comments as you go along. We love hearing from our readers!
