Frosty Roses

This card was surprisingly quick to make.  I did have to set the roses aside to dry for a few minutes but other than that the actual process of creating this card was simple.

For the first time, I inked up my embossing folder Manhattan Flower (114517)with Poppy Parade (now retired) ink.  I placed my cardstock inside the folder and ran through the Big Shot.  Voila – you have a fully coloured flower, how cool is that!

Then I cut around the flower and used my Frost White Shimmer Paint (116854) and a Sponge Dauber (102892) to add that muted red shimmer/ shine.  This is where I set this aside to dry 🙂 (the flower looks incredible and bright without the paint as well)

Next I took a piece of 4″ x 5 1/4″ Whisper White card stock and ran it through the Big Shot (113439) using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder (117335).  Once my roses were dry I glued them to the Polka Dots cardstock and trimmed any excess cardstock overhanging the edges.

Tie a bit of 1/8″ Black Taffeta ribbon (119261) around this layer and then add to my 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ folded card base.

I love how this card turned out and that it can be used for so many different occasions because I didn’t add any one specific sentiment to it.
