Wednesday my husband and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary (12 years together) and each day is still like we are just beginning our journey together. We work hard at making each day special and spending time together. God has blessed us in so many ways and we continue to look to Him for strength and guidance in all we do. I misplaced my original card for Chris, so I gave him a different card, then later in the day remembered where the other one was and gave that to him as well. He was confused, surprised and happy to receive two cards 🙂 The joy of a hand crafted card… who can resist!
Speaking of who can resist…… have you fallen in love with the bundle Colourful Seasons? We are a full month into the new catalogue already and let me just say that this catalogue is inspiring! With so many wonderful products it was tough selecting this weeks Friday Focus but Colourful Seasons came out the winner and I have some gorgeous projects to share with you from some very talented stampers!
Let’s start with Natalie Lapakko’s creation. Her layout is so clean and the colours so crisp, your eyes are immediately drawn to the Muskoka chair sitting in front of the bold background wash. Want to know how she did the watercolour wash? Click the photo to check out her post as she provides you with the instructions. Fun and easy to do!
Next we have this beautiful card created by Crafty Little Peach. Notice how she used blues and greens as well? I’m loving the look of the coloured embossing paste. Mine has arrived but I have not had a chance to experiment with it yet. I can’t wait! If you look closely, you’ll notice that Crafty Little Peach coloured her die cut leaf as well and layered over the paste background. Another crisp, clean layout with popping colours and another season ‘displayed’. Think how versatile this set is with the imagery for all four seasons!
On to another season here, let’s check out this sweet floral card by Jari Francis. You can see by the image that she also decorated the inside of the card. This card has a great balance. Plenty of white space, uneven number of flowers, just a few colours used… sometimes we forget how these elements affect our feelings and emotions. This card makes me feel calm and that little birdie with his face turned upwards as though he is singing, makes me happy.
For now, I’ll skip the winter season. While I will likely end up beginning Christmas cards next month, I’m not quite ready to face that season yet. I am just beginning to enjoy the beautiful warm weather 🙂
Have a fantastic weekend and I’ll see you soon!
