Fast, Fun, Foliage

Today is my Kick Off Party to celebrate the new Idea Book & Catalogue and I am hoping to see a great many of you there.  Once again I thought it would be good to share a project with you over the weekend.

I have to say that I was thrilled when I saw the set French Foliage in the new Idea Book & Catalogue.  I loved this set the moment I laid eyes on it.  Was it one of your favorites too?

This card was quite easy to make but if I am being honest with you, I did use some retired products to create it.

Everyone has their own way of creating and assembling a card but here are the basic steps you need to follow to create this card:

1) Cut one piece of 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″ Very Vanilla cardstock, score at 4 1/4 and fold in half so your card base measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2

2) Cut one piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock at 4 1/16″ x 5 5/16″ and one piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″

3) On the 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ Vanilla mat, stamp the scripted image in Chocolate Chip ink all over, then with Certainly Celery ink and Chocolate Chip ink, using the rock n’ roll technique, stamp the leaf images randomly.

4) Using designer series paper (I used retired DSP), punch out 3 small scallop circles and fold in half.

5) On a scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock stamp the letters y, o and u from the Sweet Shoppe Alphabet Lower in Chocolate Chip ink and punch out using the 3/4″ Circle punch.

6) Using a scrap piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock, punch out 3 pieces using the 1″ Circle Punch.  Layer the Vanilla cardstock letters onto these pieces and attach them to the punched out scallop circles.

7) Adhere to cardfront using SNAIL Adhesive and then layer the stamped artwork to the Chocolate Chip mat.

8) Tie some co-ordinating grosgrain ribbon around these layers in a bow.

9) Finally, adhere the top layers to the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Vanilla card base.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you are enjoying your long weekend.
