I made it back from Stampin’ Up! Convention 2013. It was a jam packed week with super exciting events, demonstrations and SO much more. I seriously could talk about what happened at Convention for hours. If you don’t believe me, just ask Chris, he’ll confirm it’s true (poor guy LOL)
When Stampin’ Up! told us to really plan ahead for the things we wanted to do because there would not be time to see or do it all, they weren’t kidding. I did some speedwalking while there just to make it to classes and swaps. Speaking of swaps I think I have enough cards to share with you for the next year LOL but since I would like to share my own creations as well I will try to keep those to a minimum over the next few weeks.
So do you want to hear about some of the amazing events! This year Stampin’ Up! celebrated their 25th Anniversary. Needless to say a lot of things they planned revolved around this number. We saw 25 project demonstrations on main stage, 25 lucky winners receive a $100.00 shopping spree and probably the most exciting 25 was saved until the end of closing session. 25 people won all the stamp sets in the upcoming Holiday Catalogue that begins August 1st. WOW! Sadly I was not one of the 25 BUT I am so thrilled for those who did win them.
Stampin’ Up! is the most humble, fun, motivating, inspiring companies I know of. They don’t just talk, they act! 5,800 people gathered to share wonderful laughs and heartfelt cries with one another. Hearing stories of how Stampin’ Up! as a company, as well as demonstrators as individuals, have made differences in the lives of others is truly incredible.
The theme this year was “Be The Difference”. I returned home with many thoughts of how I can make an impact in my community and be a difference. It will take me some time to plan and organize but I have a wonderful support system at home so I know it is possible.
We had a fantastic opening social with karoake using a live band, participating in a service project where we put together 2000 birthday kits for children who celebrate their birthday while in the hospital at Utah’s Primary Children’s Hospital and being part of setting a new Guiness World Book of Records “record” by mailing the most amount of greeting cards from one location at one time. (only one card per individual was counted)
The awards night was followed by another fun party featuring the band Spazmatics who played wicked 80’s music, free giveaways, carnival style games, a photo shoot and more!
Needless to say I am super exhausted but it was so worth it! I’ll be sharing more stories of fun and excitement but today I would like to share a card with you that features the Designer Series Paper Birthday Basics. You want to talk about crazy fun patterned paper – this is it. The swaps people created using this paper was totally jaw dropping.
Did you know that the Designer Series Paper Promotion is still going strong until July 31st? This means if you purchase 3 packages of Designer Series Paper (value of $13.50) you get one package FREE! (This promotion does not include paper stacks or the specialty patterned paper)
I can’t wait to show you more ideas using this paper. I just need time to go through and photograph my convention swaps!
