Christmas Cards Made Easy!

So I realize I have not been posting much the past couple months.  You can thank all the craft shows I have signed up to participate in LOL My weeks are spent creating new products for the shows and then the weekend arrives and it is tied up at the craft show.  This has left me less time to post some of my works of art!

I felt the need to at least accomplish a few Christmas cards as I have a feeling I might be in trouble if I don’t get something done now.  So I sat down and whipped up four cards using the same layout.

Now lets just go over the quick rundown of products used because seriously, this layout could produce whack of cards with few supplies.

A package of Whisper White cardstock, the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Pack, a package of Silver Glimmer (or Champagne Glimmer – looks fantastic as well) paper, the 1 1/4″ square punch, small heart punch (but the Merry Minis punch pack from the Holiday Catalogue would be perfect for these cards), one coordinating colour ink pad and a holiday greeting stamp (set).  I used a retired set of sayings for these cards.

Now bear in mind that the Festival of Prints paper pack has 48 sheets of 12 different style double sided designs.  Just think of how many 1 1/4″ square pieces you can punch from this cardstock. It’ll last a LONG time. Don’ forget how many cards will be made using one pack of Whisper White cardstock.  The base was cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at the 4 1/4″ mark. This gives 2 card bases per piece of cardstock.  Then you need one piece 5 1/4″ x 4″, this is what you layer your punched pieces on.  So you would get 4 pieces per one sheet of cardstock.  Finally you need to be able to punch the 1 1/4″ square white piece that your punched glimmer paper goes on.  If you simply cut your cardstock (rather than punching) into 1 1/4″ square pieces, you could get 48 pieces from one sheet of cardstock.

With 40 sheets of cardstock in the package of Whisper White, you could easily create 50 cards.  25 full sheets to create 50 card bases, 13 sheets to create 50 mats, 1 sheet and a smidge to get your 1 1/4″ square pieces.  This will leave you with less than one sheet of Whisper White Cardstock.

With the ability to get 720 pieces of patterned paper from the paper stack and only needing 150 pieces, you will have a large portion of the pack unused and since the mini punches are so tiny, you will not use up hardly any glimmer paper either.

How fantastic is that!
