While at a workshop the other night I had a customer ask me what I have noticed most about Stampin’ Up! when I began as a demonstrator and now. It would definitely have to be the evolution of the tools! I remember when I began 9 1/2 years ago, how my cards were so basic and simple and I really had to think about how to create fun shapes and designs. Now, the work is all done for us by using the Big Shot and the incredible dies and framelits you can use with it.
I love the Dress Up Framelits as you can create a wide variety of designs, essentially becoming your own fashion designer! LOL
I created this card for a swap I participated in while at Convention. I loved getting lots of great new ideas. This card is perfect for an elegant affair. A friends birthday, shower, engagement etc.
- Colour Selection – To keep the dress as the focal point use neutral colours for your background.
- Add On – The Dress Up Framelit is great on it’s own, but by adding layers and embellishments you can really make the dress stand out. On this card I added Basic Pearls to the waistline and some tulle to the bottom of the dress to lengthen it and give it a softer look.
- Texture – While keeping the background colours neutral it is still nice to have some texture. Here I used the Mosaic Embossing Folder which gives the card a feel that the dress is hanging on a wall.
Stamp Sets – Everything Eleanor Cardstock – Whisper White, Basic Black, Red Glimmer Paper Inks – Versamark Accessories – Big Shot, Dress Up Framelits, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Basic Pearls, Mosaic Embossing Folder, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, tulle (non-SU)
